The Lakasara (HDV-Z20) HD video camera has really exceeded my expectations. The quality and support you get for the price is outstanding. For starters, it includes a wonderful assortment of accessories… two batteries, a wall charger, a wide angle lens, a UBS cable, an HDMI cable, a shotgun mic, an accessory case, and more. All of the accessories seem well-made just like the camera itself.
The camera is loaded with features too. It has a swivel screen with touch controls, a full function remote that controls both recording and playback functions, built-in WIFI so you can control it via your mobile phone, full 1080P HD recording capability at 30FPS which provides crystal clear HD video recording. You can also use it to take still photos as well. The camera is not too heavy and it fits very snug in your hand thanks to the adjustable strap. Each of the two batteries provides about 2 hours of recording time which is plenty to get through just about any function or event. You can easily charge one battery while using the other one by using the wall charger. You can also use the camera while plugged in as well.
The on-board controls let you adjust color, tint, exposure, picture quality, and more right through the touch panel. The controls are intuitive and easy to use. I found the touchscreen to be very responsive. Although it does show fingerprints very easily. I find myself wiping it off after each filming session. No big deal, as I assume most touch screen would be similar. All of the controls and ports feel really well laid out on this camera. The built-in light on the front of the camera helps somewhat to light up a dim setting, but you may want to add a hot shoe light if you need a decent amount of extra brightness in your shots. The built-in light is sufficient for my needs, but it’s very convenient that the hot shoe is there to add accessories on.
All in all, I am very impressed with both the quality and features of the Lakasara HDV-Z20. I wasn’t sure what to expect when I decided to purchase it. I had not heard of the brand name before, but it had all of the features I wanted and it was in my price range. I very glad I decided to give it a try. I can see myself using this often. I would definitely recommend this particular model to anyone looking for an outstanding HD video camera at an affordable price. For everything you get, it’s a great buy. 🙂
